About the role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team at Western Governors University! Your primary responsibility will be to source and vet external candidates to support the hiring needs of our EdTech team and other departments across the organization. You will partner with leaders to plan, develop, and implement recruiting strategies; develop sourcing tactics to target top talent; drive the interview process and negotiate offers; and deliver a high-touch, exceptional experience for candidates and hiring managers. In this role, you will report to our Director of Talent Acquisition, and work with a team of Talent Acquisition Partners and Coordinators.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies
  • Source, screen/interview, and make hiring recommendations
  • Work with leadership to drive recruiting activities, keeping company-wide goals, objectives, and metrics in mind
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with cross-functional internal teams and external customers, employment contacts, and agencies
  • Represent WGU to prospective employees, external agencies, and partners – develop a clear understanding of our business
  • Research new products and technologies, conduct ongoing analyses of current systems, and implement improvements in recruiting operations as appropriate
  • Provide creative thinking on innovative approaches to recruiting and sourcing
  • Advise/coach managers on interview and selection techniques, hiring policies and procedures
  • Participate in internal and external hiring events as needed
  • Effectively complete administrative responsibilities within our systems

Skills you’ll need to be successful

  • Working knowledge of full-cycle recruiting
  • Knowledge of human resource laws and regulations, EEO requirements
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to identify and attract top-performing professionals
  • Excellent oral and written communications abilities
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to apply mature and discrete thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and actions in a variety of situations

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years full-cycle technical recruiting experience in an environment with accountability for meeting objectives and measuring productivity against metrics
  • Experience using sourcing tools and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience hiring leadership positions and recruiting/working with remote teams in geographically dispersed locations
  • Experience with Workday’s ATS
  • Experience with recruiting Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
