Position Summary

The Faculty Support and Communications Facilitator works within the Center for Online Learning and Teaching (COLT) to provide support for teaching effectiveness and student learning. You will partner with executive directors, deans, team leads, faculty, and members of COLT to provide support and communications while collaborating with the training facilitators to deploy training opportunities. The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as the main contact for faculty regarding their questions. With training, you will gain knowledge about our course design and faculty expectations and procedures and be able to contextualize them to apply to issues as they arise. You will report to the Assistant Director of Faculty Support and Communications.

This position works part-time hours Monday – Friday, with morning availability preferred.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide support to faculty who have questions or issues related to use of the learning management system, understanding of policy, and adherence to procedures related to the adjunct faculty role – via email, ServiceNow, webinar, remote-in sessions, and phone where applicable.
  • Exercise independent judgement and discretion while working with faculty to support their teaching and develop creative solutions
  • Utilize Excel to pull and manipulate end-of-term reporting data and faculty lists
  • Demonstrate critical thinking in the prioritization and management of various projects to ensure daily workflows are organized, prioritized, and accurately completed within prescribed time frames.
  • Connect faculty with appropriate resources and materials within COLT.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience working in higher education
  • Experience working in customer service
  • Experience manipulating, summarizing, and analyzing data
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel to include formulas and pivot tables
  • Experience working collaboratively with various stakeholders in one-on-one and team environments
